How big is mod
Just wondering how big would the mod be when it is released and will it be available from any mirrors?

Good question...it will be a very large mod, that's for sure...but also low MB versions will be available, with less sounds, no music, etc.

Actually , these LOW-MB versions are not the same.
For the full TBP experience you need to get the full version.
So ,
- get yourself DSL or faster
- or have a friend download it for you and burn it on CD.

Why should I get DSL or faster
I already have ISDN and that works well...
And who would so dumb and download lowversion... It is MUST the BIGVersion...

For everyone with a slow connection (includes me
) why not just go to a cyber-cafe thingy which has high seed internet and cd writers, it wouldn't cost much and would only take about an hour to download it and create the cd

70 mb download
70mb? No problems... you're talking to the guy who downloaded the 200mb I-War 2 demo on a 56k modem...
Get a download manager, and download it in sections, or leave your computer on over night... always works for me

We'll always make things available in parts so that you could for instance grab the music later.

Download accellerator plus is good.. it is a download manager, but it also speeds downloading up too.
The important thing is that while you will need the whole mod to get the full effect, you don't have to download it all at once (though that option probably will be there)

Download accelerator is piece of ****, it's nice if it downloads but it does not speed up downloading anyway.

yes it does. I can get around 5k per sec with it, and around 3k per sec without. It works by downloading the file in four seperate segments simultaneously... not sure how that speeds it up, but it does.
Bear in mind that it only works on sites that support it.. but most do.

it only speeds things up if you're grabbing from multiple sources and the sources are being overloaded - it doesn't actually speed up your end of the download technically

On a 56k you can do 80mb easily in a night. I don't know why people have problems downloading big things at 56k.

thats right, lambo, I also have dowload acc plus I have done 50mb downloads over night (56K) and set up the program to disconnect right after, so your getting your stuff while sleeping.
I'm such a comodist
even if it didn accelarate ( I observed that it does at least for me,but it depends from case to case) its quite usefull for other features.
I have NTL, its free but it automatically disconnects after two hours!
Same here, but I've found that if you use Getright it's not a major problem, just do it over several days.

I'm not that patient!
Seeing download demo, clicking on it and then waiting for seven days for it to download! I'll crack
Size does not matter...
the contents do!!!
Hi,
As long as it's not over 120mb the combination of the obscenely fast connections in my university's computer labs (I've seen 100mb a second for short bursts, a friend who managed to connect his laptop into the system described it as like having the internet on his hard drive) and an LS120 disk will handle it nicely. So I'll only get incensed about the size if it's over that. In which case I shall go into a sulk.
Don't say you weren't warned.
Bye,
Dave
