They look sort of like Warlocks.

Posted by darthwoo on 04-30-2001 03:55 AM:

Well, maybe not entirely like Warlocks, but lose that control tower, change the guns around a bit, add a big protruding thing along the ventral bow, and then it would be more like a Warlock, but the main hull is similar anyway.

Ahh! Did some looking around, and those are Tempests I guess. I don't know much about the non-cannon stuff though.

Posted by Galen on 04-30-2001 07:29 AM:

Hmmm... Ya they got to be Tempests, but I have never seen one before. I know they are not Warlocks. What is this Non-Cannon stuff?

Non cannon (or canon, not sure which way it's spelled) as in never appeared on the show, and I believe someone outside of the show's staff created.

Thats a Tempest class cruiser. Its non-cannon but we might be including them in the MOD later on.

They are the replacement to the Hyperion heavy cruisers. They have the technology level of the Warlock so they are pretty darn powerful.

PLEASE include that ship in the mod!!!!
It's my FAVORITE ship!
(And remember, NO DIRT on the tempist, it's non-cannon, but there is NO DIRT on this ship. I can see it on others, but NOT thhe tempist. )

My signiture exist in many shapes and sizes at many different forums. this is not one of them.

Yeah, basically support for the Warlocks. I like it's looks.

BTW, it's canon. With just one "n". Cannon means something completely different

Posted by darthwoo on 04-30-2001 07:33 PM:

Hmm...one thing I see about the ship is that it looks much like a combination of a Warlock's hull, and the Hyperion's command tower. It would be unfortunate for the command crew if a few stray shots managed to blow off that tower....

The Walkers of Sigma 957 are walk I really want to see in game! I just flying anlong and there one of them flys by my ship! Shadows and Vorlons bewear! The Walkers of Sigma 957 are coming!

Rule 1 of starship design: never keep the command center in the most obvious place

Posted by darthwoo on 04-30-2001 08:20 PM:

It's in a pretty dang obvious place on the Victories.

Posted by Jabu on 04-30-2001 08:26 PM:

That is a pretty bad design, since one well-aimed shot can wipe out the main command crew

Just remember the Battle of Endor

Posted by darthwoo on 04-30-2001 08:28 PM:

And then look at Star Trek. Practically EVERY Starfleet design has the bridge nice and exposed. But then again I guess they have an excuse since they are shielded and by the time weaponsfire is directly hitting the hull the ship is pretty much doomed anyway.
