Turret fire rate
Was wondering if the turrets on the ships would have a fast rate of fire cos the rate they fire is crap in fs2 and not every species in B5 has beams eg. the Centaraui(sp) don't seem to use them or do they keep'em a secret?
Thats right if I remember right eve the B% station had a defense grid that produced fire traces very dangerous to fighters. Also the vorchan can fire 3 shots in a fast sucssetion of its main plasma gun, making it a tremendous anti-fighter weapon.
Thr right rate flag is a floating point value in seconds

Riiight...anyways yes to faster firing rates. I think even the heavy pulse cannon fires no slower than 0.4 seconds and some of the turrets are 0.2 seconds. Thats fast.
I'm looking to achieve the same effect we saw on TV.

0.2 secs that is fast i wonder what 0.0 would be like? i'll give it a go.
How did you managed to get it to fire that fast? I thought cap. ship turrets can't fire faster than about 0.5?

Well i got the rate at 0.0 and boy is it FAST!!!! Trying to destroy a leviathan armed with only the terran turret which fires at a rate 0.0 is very, very, very, very, very hard! i got killed by it a hell of alot of times!!

Turrets can fire as fast as you want them to be. Nothing special is required.
The matter is more of a balancing thing....
I once made an Orion in FS1 have a turret that did 5 damage and fired at 0.05 seconds. The Orion destroyed every single fighter that flew anywhere near it. Total and utter carnage.

Thats very odd. In my tests I didn't have any problems with a ultra fast firing turret.
Add the "stream" tag and see what effect that has.
Could I get someone to key me in on how this is done? What file I need to edit, and what program I need to do it with? Id love to replay FS2 with the Capital ships acutally being able to defend themselves, however on the negitive side, if I change it for one, will it change for all? Another words, if I set one class of Capitial ship to it, will the bad guys, with the same capital ship, have it to?
If I remember correctly, stream tag had no effect to fire rate, I can be wrong howewer.
