Shadow death cloud?
Hey are you guys considering making the shadow planet killer? If so will you be able to fly into it like in "A call to arms"?
Calm down buddy, let's get into a starfury first and take it from there.
Yes , right after we model the complete mars surface with each single stone.
koshy try to ask all your questions at once rather than bursts =)
Rest assured we'll do all we can possible within the limits of Freespace 2's engine. At least the other guys will.. I'll site on the side and my smartass comments and work on the web page =)

we could do the coriana 6 death cloud =)- since it appeared before we new what was happening so a nice dark nebula effect with perhaps a very large super structure and missle banks all over it - and i didn't just volunteer to do such thing i just pointing out it could be done
You can actually modify the .pof of the nebula, or the sub-space effect's .pof (I'd advise that since it then won't break hyperspace)
Individual missiles would then have to be done as kamakazie ships, but the modifications on the .pof would allow for the nebula and structure effects.
I know Dark has been playing with such a thing for AoD... oops said too much

I don't think what Dark has in mind is like the Shadow death cloud...although definately interesting in its own right
i dont think the subspace effect is really going to look very like the inside of the death cloud - i would go with a dark nebula made slighly more transparents but not much - maybe enough so you can almost see the stars - then either have missiles warp in as ships but then they would take evasive action which would be unrealistic or you could make just bits of the super structure or 1 very big one which ever want
No, kaikazes don't evade, they die
Entirely possible as i understand....the nebula would be used and it wouldnt affect hyperspace settings....i am interested in the nebula.pof file if their is such a thing....i believe your refering to the poof.pcx pictures.....

we know the thing i supposed to have a structure of some kind so in the nubla bits of a huge structure with turrets on them some with some beams etc and make the mission defnesive - take out the missiles before tehy can get the white star and sheridan and delen - you could take out some turrets while at it too - you'd have to be careful to try and contain the battle ina small area so you never found out that the bits its the structure were not joined together though - thats my person opinon anyway

that vaped Gillium's ship in Crusade, or the teckno mage ships (obiusly stealth)
The Shadow Hybrid would be nice to see.
It's secret was mostly revealed in the third released Crusade script that wasn't filmed (I've got synopses of them, anyone want me to translate them into English?)
I just read the scripts through. Turns out Technomage tech was also stolen from the Shadows
So that's why they were hiding... Somehow I already guessed that. They did not seem to be very clever outside... More like Dureena to me
Thieves, I mean.
Alex Folker: No, but we have repeatedly said that we would try and accomodate every ship seen in both series that that included the Shadow BlackOps (the ship that destroyed the EAS Cerberus, GIDEON's ship), the Technomage ship, and so on.
Changing the .pof for the nebula will affect hyperspace. But simple cosmetic changes would not. Infact, it would not be hard to accomplish the affect required as far as the black mist part of the cloud. The structure would take some time to create however.
Ive already been playing with this, and still am, however, youll have to wait and see the results

OMG! Another dead guy returns!
I haven't heard anything about Wingnut, ever!
is he a hippy too?
Wingnut has always been a hippy...as long as VW hippies existed.
He is responsible for the Red Faction site design among other things. He's sort of our tinkerer.
Nebulae are POOFs not POFs
