Yes , our mod will be a funny peace of software....

Posted by CptWhite on 04-09-2001 10:21 AM:

(about the nebula) i didnt do that

and ships look slightly different to my PC you took smoothing off it looks like....and the nebulas are a lot dimmer......can you tell me what you did

Posted by Denix Linelli on 04-09-2001 12:00 PM:

thats not an ingame shot - at least i dont think it is - but looks cool none the less

Posted by Kazan on 04-09-2001 12:15 PM:

It's a truespace render, you're not seeing all the nebulae, but yes they are the v1 nebulae with starfeidls added. the ring is a lighting effect - a halo

i thought it is was game.....its very close to what it looks like.....just the halo and nial guns that give it away really

Posted by Mr. Fury on 04-09-2001 04:38 PM:

Nice pic, but there is no "right feeling" on these Nial guns. But anyway, it's a good pic.

Posted by Kazan on 04-09-2001 08:08 PM:

I have to tweak the effect.. what i need to learn how do do is apply textures with transparency

A tad overdone if you ask me. But not too bad.

Rings around the sun in FS2 would definately look much cooler.

Posted by whitestar55 on 04-10-2001 03:06 AM:

how bout making the putting that effect into the backgroud library?I know that you are limited in the number of backgrounds that you can have but it looks so cool..........

Well...I was thinking that just using the sun glow bitmap that is overlayed on the sun would work nicely too.

Posted by Skullar on 04-10-2001 10:28 AM:

Rings around the suns in FS2 is no problem , but they would be static.

Posted by Kurare on 04-10-2001 11:16 AM:

Damn, why didn't they make lans flare? It is a VERY old effect... Well, I'll allow it with EMBM if the source is released . No, I think the hope is dead. Anyone thought of buying it? $10 each one in this forun and we might be able to buy those four million lines of text . Ha, ha. Damn I'm funny.

Humans...
Yes. They are the key.

-Delenn and Kosh, Babylon 5: In the Beginning
Yes, a foolish key... But who cares?

Posted by IceFire on 04-11-2001 02:20 PM:

Actually...they tried adding lensflare and it was unstable so they took it out.
