Hard Crash

Right now it looks like the MySQL server crashed hard. We don't know for sure though, but many functions on the site that are powered by it won't work right now (PotD, The Oracle, any of the news scripts, etc.) I guess we'll know in time, eh?

Also, it seems that our subdomains aren't working either. That means that FSW, RFW, and SW are all off-line for the moment. We're looking in to it.

Subdomains are back online and it seems as if all hosted sites are back online as well.

FTP logins should have been restored as well (some hosted sites were offline).

The Oracle and News Scripts are still offline.

Has Telefragged given any kind of reason why this could be happening?

Anybody know if any other Telefragged hosted sites are getting problems, or if this is VW specific?

Well.. at least the archives are fine (that's on Tux, not home or Phoenix like the other sites).. I'm not sure.. most of the other sites aren't as database driven as ours.

Really? Damn.. didn't have time to check that out this morning. Someone put a temporary fix in for the PotD this morning, I see. I don't think it's actually rotating live right now. (paths must be screwed up or something)

Apparently we were moved to a new server.

Posted by Alphakiller on 01-12-2001 12:25 AM:

Nice of them to let you know, eh? And the MySQL thing is still down, is this because (on the new server) it's trying to access a local resource that doesn't exist? (e.g. it was there on the old server; not there yet on the new) ... ?

That's what I think. I don't know what Telefragged thinks because it takes them like 1 week to reply to e-mails... er.. from me at least. I feel unloved.
