Posted by JR2000Z on 03-17-2001 07:22 PM:

Well, its name is 'Ceres' and its a new addiion to the campain...

Posted by KillMeNow on 03-17-2001 07:31 PM:

well its better than snipes with the nexus - the causally mention it then no more

but to be informative - ceres is an asteroid - a large one between the orbits of mars and jupiter i believe

since this game revists the sol system its probally an asteriod base - something like the ntf bodicea or what ever its called

Posted by IceFire on 03-17-2001 08:49 PM:

Umm...no...its based on a mythological name of which the asteroid was based on.

Its a science station.

Posted by KillMeNow on 03-17-2001 09:31 PM:

ok well it was just a guess

Posted by Snipes on 03-17-2001 10:20 PM:

Is it armed? I see it has little spikey thingies on the ottom, they could easily be turrets, or antennaes...

Posted by KillMeNow on 03-17-2001 10:40 PM:

is there a pic of it somewhere? that would have helped the acuraccy of my guess

Posted by Ghost of Bobboau on 03-17-2001 11:32 PM:

GTI Ceres?! would that be Galatic Terran Intelligence?
It looks very very cool and modern. reminds me of a Demois cruiser.

Posted by Snipes on 03-18-2001 01:36 AM:

It does?

What do you see that I don't?

I don't think instalation is quite acurate as it's only slightly smaller than a corvette.

It looks like a demois in the design of the top bit looks like the side of a demois wrapped around and the colour is the same.

Posted by Snipes on 03-18-2001 03:35 PM:

Zeroet - Oh, ok...

Bobboau - But isn't an installation anything that is stationary in space? A pharos could be an instiation... no?

Posted by Ghost of Bobboau on 03-18-2001 04:06 PM:

I remember the Arcadia was redesignated instalation becase it was so damn huge.

then make it a GTSS Ceres galatic terran space station or science station whichever

Posted by Snipes on 03-18-2001 05:54 PM:

What was the Arcadia befor it was redesignated?

"It looks like a demois in the design of the top bit looks like the side of a demois wrapped around and the colour is the same."

Spacecrack is bad for you.

The color is not even remotely the same. It uses textures from the Orion and Arcadia models.

In FS terms, Installation ususally defines any stationary un-movable object (even under its own power - no engine subsystem) that is of military or civilian importance...

In my terms... It aint got no engine (hence its a brick) & its frequented by people... its an installation
