OT- Brawl at my soccer game

I've never been so embarassed in my entire life!

Three of my teammates and the entire opposing team [+ their coach] got in a brawl in the last 5 minutes of regulation time.

The Refs had not been calling anything the entire game, the opposing team was undeafeated and we were beating them for most of the game. The opposing team was fouling our players left and right; obsruction, high kick, pushing, and every cardable offense you can think of.. and the refs called nothing.

To compound the problem our coach was not properly subbing, he had 7 fresh upper classmen, including myself, that could take that team in our sleep.

It was 3 minutes left, one of the other teams players PUNCHES one of our forwards straight up, he had played every minute, so he was frustraited and tired. He punched the other guy back, two more of our guys ran into the try and break it up and just got dragged into the brawl when the entire opposing team ran in.

I have never been so embarassed by my teammates.

Doesn't sound like your team mates were the problem. The refs were obviously biased. Corruption is rife in amateur level football. In this country anyway.

lot's of the ref's around here are partial to Iowa City City High, exactly who we were playing today

Unless you just interpreted something as an illegal contact when infact it was legal. Being a ref, you see things differently.

Still...punching is pretty much illegal and bias is not a good practice. When your the ref, you are the third team - the other teams don't really matter. Just you and your assistants.

Don't you understand ?
He is embarrassed by his teammates !
I would interpret this the folowing way :
We from TBP are his soccer team .
The other team yet undefeated is the task to modify Freespace 2.
The ref is a damned jerk , he represents the difficulties we encounter and the failure that results from them.
And.... well , think of it !

Sometimes you've just gotta punch the ref.
it's human nature.

Nonono... the teammates obviously represent his sexuality and the referees are the pressures of modern society

Some Freud there.

Sounds like the other team got something wrong and thought they are playing football!
lol

so who won the game anyway???

Fights are bad. Biased refs are bad. Kicking a biased ref's @$$ is good. Three team members vs. the whole opposing team plus their coach is bad. The opposing team fouling on purpose and not getting called for it is cheating on the part of the refs. The opposing team having that little discipline is pathetic. Etc. Etc.

One time (quite a while back now) my coach actually forfeited a game because the red was so biased. The ****er was actually the dad of one of the kids on the other team!

Sure about that?

Their coach has been fired, and the refs awarded us the game

I guess so.

Well, that's good. How do soccer penalties work? Do you move up the field or does the penaltied guy sit out?

Posted by Kazan on 05-05-2001 01:46 AM:

normal FIFA rules

Yellow Card: This is a warning, play on, 2 yellows in the same game = a "Soft" Red

Red Card: Player ejected rest of game + min 1 game suspension - Hard red = team plays man down, Soft Red = forced sub
