Unresolved Bug - Crashes FS2

(I've got the patch)
When I start FS2 the screen goes black for several seconds and then FS2 minimizes and I receive this error message

After I click okay FS2 pops back up and the intro plays. When the intro finishes playing FS2 minimizes again and I receive this error message

After I close this message another message pops up

After which I receive and illegal error message from windows and I must close the program.

Anyone have any idea what is going on here? Any help would be appreciated.

Best Idea would be to reinstall the game...

Re-install the game at the original place. Just test it...

Tried reinstalling - does not fix the problem.

Reinstall windows, that kernal error sounds like a windows problem, you might have a virus on your computer.... check it out.

I doubt its a problem with windows and I doubt very much that its a virus problem.

Uninstall FreeSpace 2. Remove EVERYTHING from the FreeSpace 2 directory (you have to do this manually). If you're brave, remove any hint of FS2 from your registry too. Then reinstall.

I would recommend the same, but...
If you don´t know how, don´t do it.
