shield icons
anyone know how to make ones that look ok? mine look really bad once in teh game but they look ok just as ani files - so what am i doing wrong?
Same thing happens to me... so I usually just copy the outer shell of a pre-existing ani, and put a small ship in the center... it's not the best, but it's not bad...
Probably a pallet thing. Using PSP I take an extracted ani file frame (using Descent Network various tools), save the pallet. Take my new file and load the pallet onto it. PSP is pretty good about merging the pallets. Apply this process to all your frames of animation, rebuild the ANI and you should be okay.
I didn't know that! I even have psp 7 <cough> eval </cough>
i made sure to use the same palette on all the images - but i could try that - thanks
It's the pallette, send them to me at demonicus@demonicus.net and I'll fix them for you.
Yes , it's the palette .
With wrong palette shield icons appear too dark on the sceen . I also did it via exporting an original palette and applying it to relevant PCX files .
Making the icons for TBP was simple because Babylon 5 craft have no shields .
ok i got it to work - i extracted the palette from one and then used it and it works fine now
