Anyone remember this show???
my memory is like crackers they can only be used once
but anyway
the carrier was named Saratoga
the squadrons flew hammerheads
the squadron in focus was named wildcards
i only saw 2 or 3 episodes of this show before they cancelled it on the telly ;((((((((((((((
I've never seen it myself, but I'd guess you're thinking of S:AaB, Space: Above and Beyond.
I could confirm that. The name of the show is "Space: Above and Beyond". Over here (Schweden) it was called "The battle of Tellus". I guess Saab wouldn't be the best name

It actually ran a full season I think. They ran out of good ideas tho.
I saw a bit of the last episode tho.
I liked the end, it was like the end of FS2. Kind of unexpected ending.
Space: Above and Beyond
ran for a full season, one of the heroes got his girlfriend back in that last episode, but lost all his friends. Wasnt a bad show, kinda like a cross between FS and Aliens 2.
Which was why the concept what just wrong.
Who in their right mind trains pilots to be marines as well?
"Yes, let's send the troops we just spend a million dollars each on for flight training into ground combat where they'll get chewed up like dog food!"
Starship troopers summed it up perfectly:
The Fleet does the flying, the MI does the dying.
That was my main complaint with the series, that and it was a bad rip-off of Aliens in look and design.
It works if a single episode or so deals with an emergency where the pilots must survive on the surface after they crash, but being marines duking it out? I don't think so...
Whoever their Admiral is, he needs a good Bosch beer...

marine pilots have done all the infantry training but after they had there flight training it does seem abit crazy to send them into combat on foot - although unlike some of you i cant say i had appriated that fact until you just pointed it out - and while on the subject what happened in the last episode i think i seen every other episode twice but i always miss the final show
It's a pity they cancelled it though. It roxed.
