MAY-zahn versus MEE-sahn

High time I started upping my post count too...

In FreeSpace 2, the Meson Bomb is always pronounced "MEE sahn". But until I played the main campaign, I had thought it was pronounced "MAY-zahn"; at least, that's what I had always heard. So I looked it up in Webster's, and apparently both pronunciations are valid - although MAY-zahn comes first (curiously, MEH-zahn comes before both of them). The exact pronunciation guide goes like this:

quote:
\ 'meh-zahn, 'may-, 'mee-, -sahn \

So which do you prefer?

Still play FS1? Check out my upcoming campaign, Fortunes of War.
Play FS2 instead? Check out my finished minicampaign, Deus Ex Machina. :D

Will Farrell would kick bin Laden's butt

It wouldn't be the only time something was pronounced curiously in FreeSpace 2. Your first squadron commander says something along the lines of He-cate when it's really more like "Heck-ah-tee".

I still agonize over foililiailiage.
