Stooooopid EA...
Seriously, the EA, in real life, WOULD have won the Earth-Minbari War.
Remember the nukes? if every EA vessal had a bunch of nukes, why were they *never* used (With one exception).
Seems to me you plop one on a starfury, hit the auto-pilot, and fly is right into every sharlin you could find. Sheesh, even a maint-bot could carry a nuke!
Sooo....why didn't they. (OK, they didn't because then there wouldn't be a story...buuuut)

Probably because every single StarFury, Maint Bot and SUV equipped with a nuke would be the first targeted by the Minbari. Sheridan got really lucky, the asteroids were the key to being able to destroy the Black Star.
You also run the risk of the Minbari blowing up all of your tactical nukes while you're still launching them. Which is very bad for you.

because they would blow the **** out of them selves (how do you spell this PLEASE tell me) out and starfurys would be shot down and i think a nuke costs a ****load of money too ofcourse 1 way to make this hapen is to jump out of hyperspace drop proxy mine nukes and get tha hell into H-space
well that is why.

I think JMS generally finds weapons of mass destruction to be quite distasteful. They are presented as such in the series.
Do you remember the look on Sheridan's face when he heard about the VPK?

You might remember a part from early on in Babylon 5, when the rogue Minbari cruiser comes to the station in the hope of driving them into attacking the ship and opening hostilities again.
Delenn provides some of the background as to why a ship of the warrior caste should so abandon the culture to which they were do deeply loyal, and she gives the story of their arguing for the use of much more destructive means in the war with the EA; commiting themselves to exile when their suggestions were downplayed in the council as being completely unreasonable.
Mind you, if we were talking of EA tactics, what about the old ramming argument?

The Drakh didn't really know exactly what they were doing so when they poisoned Earth the plague wasn't adapted to humans....although the counterpoint to that is the race we see in Racing the Night.
Quoting from Lurkers Guide:
quote:
In "A Call to Arms," Sheridan said that the reason the plague will take five years to kill everyone on Earth is that the Drakh didn't have time to adjust it for Earth biology before releasing it. If that's true, why didn't the plague act more quickly on the aliens, given that it was the Shadows themselves who released it? Maybe they released it at the very end of the last Shadow War and, like the Drakh, didn't have time to adjust it beforehand, but it's also possible that the analysis Sheridan was quoting was flawed. If so, the five-year figure might be incorrect as well.

The Drakh probably wanted to bring the ISA to their knees....
and then kill them all anyway. Then organised resistance would crumble and any remaining colonies would be ripe for the taking. The EA was probably seen as the most aggressive immediate threat and so needed destroying but the Minbari were probably an enemy that the Drakh wanted them to know that they were beaten. Remember the whole Shadow War? They never attacked each other openly (at first) because they wanted to prove to the other who was right, not simply to beat them.
