HELP ME !!!!! please
I am trying to make a battle between the SJ Sathanas adn the GTVA Clollosus. The only problem is even thoguh i created an event that unlocks the beam weapons on both ships, they steadily refuse to shoot each other with their beams. PLEASE ASSIST ME!!

For all the rest of you.... don't come here.
Make sure they're within optimal targeting range of each other (meaning they're not too far away and they're not too close to each other). The Colossus' beams are located mainly on the port and starboard sides of the hull, so position it and the Sathanas accordingly.
Still didn't work

- you sure you used the beam-free-all command on BOTH ships?
- and in FRED2, you made sure that both of them's initial targets were each other?

Both their beams have been freed and both of them hive initial orders to attack each other.

If they are close enought to each other.
If they have beam weapons.
If they have their beams are freed. (Check the event at least three times, then check it again)
Then they should fire each other...
But if they do not fire each other, I would recomment you make the whole mission again from scratch. That usually helps when mission goes screwy and nothin else helps...
If that does not help, reinstall FS2.
If that does not help, hit your head in a wall and try again.
If that does not help, destroy your computer.
If that does not help... may the great maker help us all...
Edit:
BTW. Those initial orders should have no effect on this. Turrets fire hostiles even if the ship has no initial orders to attack anything...
Ofcourse atleast one of them ships is hostile, yes?

Oh ****! Those idiots did it.
Are both ships present at the beginning of the mission? If not, make sure you're using a has-arrived-delay SEXP. And just for troubleshooting purposes, give it a delay of 1.
The beam-free has to be activated when the ships enter the mission....otherwise the event has no effect.
Also...beam-protect tags for either ship and/or a wing of fighters ignoring a target can also mess things up quite a bit.
