The Trivia of Jennings
Well, I decided to jump on the band wagon, and start my own trivia thread. Of course, Dynamo, the original creator of this idea, is still the man.
My trivia is going to be more on the hard side. Some will be ones you can simply look up, others will be ones you'll have to think about. But hopefully no one will have an immediate answer to any of them.
I will never dispense more than two questions in a day, as I want to give everyone some time to read the next question. Harder questions will be worth more points. I'm not sure how high each round will go yet. I'll decide that later depending on how fast this moves
Okay, onto the first question:
Name The 4 Quantum Numbers In Chemistry
-Worth 1 point

w00t w00t w00t! They are:
N: Principle Quanum Number
L: Sublevel Quantum Number
M: Magentic Guantum Number (Orientation)
S: Spin Quantum Number (Either 1/2 or -1/2)
And that would be Correct!
Fantomeye: 1
Next question:
What, as soon as you say its name, ceases to exist?
-Worth 2 points

Aw hell
Here's a much harder one:
Does 2=1?
X = Y
X^2 = XY
X^2 - Y^2 = XY - Y^2
(X+Y)(X-Y) = Y(X-Y)
(X+Y) = Y
Y+Y = Y (Substitute in from line 1, because X is the same as Y)
2Y = Y
2 = 1
Question: Find the error.

I'm going to get this one. I will not be bested in a math question.

not if i get it first
or me
Ya know what would be funny? If none of us did
pff. if i can't get it, i'll just ask one of the multitude of people around here with a math degree
If X is equal to Y, then that logically means that the operation (X-Y) is 0. Therefore, the transition from this line
(X+Y)(X-Y) = Y(X-Y)
to this line
(X+Y) = Y
can't happen because you're dividing by zero if you do! MWA HA HA! NEXT!

Going by that, then you technically have
0=0
so the proof is actually over

Lol, Shrike misunderstood something
@Shrike: you are free to open your own trivia thread in this board.
