Volition: THQ Buys Volition

In a recent post on the Volition Bulletin Board, there was a thread that contained a link to IGN.PS2 stating that THQ had bought Volition. I went and checked out the article and it was true.. THQ had bought Volition, all-stock, for $20-$25 million. This is great news for Volition and maybe we'll see some changes around here! This certainly means that we won't see anything more from Interplay, our arch-nemesis, by Volition. This does however bring doubts of a Freespace 3 going in to production any time soon. The only way to publish now would be for Interplay to sell the rights for the series (hopefully they will). Anyways, this is _MAJOR_ news, although it is not yet official confirmation.. Correction: It is now. Odd, it goes on and off.. maybe all the FS fans are flooding the server..

Are you going to change the site's name from VolitionWatch to THQWatch?? (sorry, I just had to type that)

Well, at least now you can guarantee you will be able to find copies of Red Faction and Summoner on store shelves once they come out.
