Longtime FS2 nut...

...searching for a version of FS2.exe (v1.20) that will both bypass the CD-check (I assume legality is no longer an issue now that FS2's source code has been released) AND play .mve files from the harddrive. As far as I know, the only FS2.exe that does this comes with the Underdogs distribution, but with one minor catch: it isn't patched.

So what I'm essentially looking for is a v1.20 counterpart to the v1.00 HoTu executable. Now I realize I could use FS2_Open, or create CD images and mount those with DaemonTools, but then I'd either have to hunt down all the converted .avi movies (which is why I prefer the original .mve format, even if it means sacrificing two gigabytes) or run DT whenever I start FS2, which isn't much of an option on this PC.

Help? Please?

Your FAQ was the first thing I read, actually. But I'm on a dialup connection, so leeching the .avi's would take, well, forever. That's why I'm specifically after a v1.20 executable with the same functionality as the one included with the HotU archive (which obviously can't be patched).

Heh, I take it you're referring to the GCW link? Believe me, I've already tried every single crack I could find there... and the only one that does what I want it to do happens to be written for the German edition of FS2, whereas mine is plain old English.

it might still work, make a copy of it and try it
