Question Red Faction General Info

Hello.

I am interested in purchasing Red Faction, but I'm not sure about a few things:

-Does Red Faction support TCP/IP, LAN, and IPX for multiplayer?

-Can people play online without IPX by using an internet gaming service similar to PXO.NET?

-Is there a ranking system with Red Faction? If so, then how does one activate it?

-Where do large groups of players chat about and play Red Faction? Online via an internet gaming service, or on LAN's?

-Is it true that the general public does not know whether Red Faction II is coming out for PC?

-How exactly has the Geo-Mod engine improved since the first Red Faction?

-What is the media's and players' general opinion on the single-player mission for Red Faction?

Thanks.

I am a dum dum so i asked harmLE$$ these are his answers:-

RF Supports TCP/IP and Lan NOT IPX

RF has its own Master Server like UT and this is used to find servers on the net rather than GameSpy etc

There currently no Ranking system for RF, Altho that RF God harmLE$$ is currently working on a serverside stats system that should be out shortly

Most RF players hang around on the different boards, examples: rfhq.com , houseofplus.com , here etc etc

RF2 has currently not been scheduled for PC release

no idea

i like the single player altho a tad on the easy side

there is no expansion pack as far as i am aware nothing thats official anyway, there is a community made MOD called Hive which basically completly changes the game. Also a must have is Version 1.30 which is a community made patch it was aimed at getting rid of cheats in multi and works very well but has not been embraced by the community as much as it should have, but is useful to have for when u get bored of people flying round ur head

Are there a lot of version 1.30 servers for Red Faction? Also, are there any known issues with version 1.30? If so, then what are they?

Wouldn't someone have to MOD the game so that statistical- and rank-related HUD messages appear on the screen?

Also, what was the general opinion from players about the use of the geo-mods in the PC version? Were they used enough or too little?

Thanks.

AS for 1.3 is r0x no issuse but there aint a lot of servers because most ppl in 1.2 like to cheat

in SP ya dun use the geo mod much.. but in multi, there are some maps where ya can destroy the whole level if ya wanted to (user made maps).. most of the community (of wats left of it) likes RF

In my opinion, Geo-Mod is used less in RF 2 than in RF.
