[sorta rant] RF bugs not really that bad

I've really been looking around RF and i've only found two things with it that i consider problems

1) Maps are not autodownloaded. Really guys, we could have used this and it would have been nice, but i can understand exactly why it doesn't work and why you didn't do it - and making it work would have required valuable time you needed for other coding.

2) The entire multiplayer cheating thing, it's not a very big bug actually, but it's a very visable one. Both of those being said, I'd hate to try to track that one down, it's not very big but theoretically could be hiding one of any hundred places.

Overall I think Volition did a great job coding FS2, I mean, geomodding, conceptually it's pretty simple, but implementing it, and implementing it in a way that can be done real time, that was some hard coding. Shouts out to who came up with the idea+code [i don't remember which codemonkey did it]

Cut Volition some slack, they coded well, and coded well in three months

slack? why, yes, they were.

I'll only cut them as much slack as they deserve. Which I already did when the game came out and people complained about the bugs and lack of features and I said, "But they had to slap the thing together in 3 months under orders from THQ".
However, since then, the game hasn't improved. I honestly don't know what the two patches did, as they didn't affect anything aside from making cheating slightly less easy, as far as I can tell.

They've taken their slack and hung themselves with it, IMO.

Wrong game?
I agree though, RF is very well coded. It is a great game but cheaters do spoil it.
I don't think you can go blaming [V] for the cheating problem. If there was a patch preventing cheats, some ****heads would find away around it and the problem would start again. There isn't much [V] can do about it.

Don't blame [V]. Red Faction is not a faulty product. The brains of cheaters are.

Mod cheating is here for good, stop beating a dead horse.
