There's always a critic

SO WE MUST KILL HIM!!! hehe, just kiding. Well, I think I would just say out loud what I thought were good and bad *gasp* features about the mod.

(get it off my chest ya know)

Good things:

- EVERYTHING!
- VOICE-ACTING: superb, so much better than expected
- Animations: holy hell, if that isnt original B5 CG!!
- Interface/Background Art - GIves the feeling of a whole new GOOD, professional quality game
- 3D Models: obviously one of the main parts of the game, are amazing quality

Bad Things:
- NOTHING CONCRETE REALLY!
-I didint notice you guys removing ambient light...the ships were fully lit from all sides, like ine FS2..no cool dark/shaded effect.
- Either the poly counts are high, or they arent lodded, or my video card is VERY old, but in mission 3 (as far as I am right now) framerates drop drastically when all ships are in view.
- in the mission briefing for some mission there are apostrophes MISSING! APOSTROPHEs man! You ruined the game! hehe. oh and the one of the command briefing's text just doesnt fit in the box (no scrolling feature there)

Some Advice: Dont play Mission 3 set on "Insane"

If you do, you will know fear, you will know pain, and then you will die.

ah, the apostraphies are probably IceFire...I'm just arbitrarily blaming him, since he says "Your welcome!" too much

lighting- what is the lighting level set at in your options menu if it's low all ships will be fully lighted

Choppiness- the hyperion, jumpgate, and nova don't have LODs!!!?? man thats got to be nuking our vidio cards, but thats better than having to whait another three months while someone makes them. also the models generaly have a higher poly count than the origonal FS ones, and arn't as efishent.

and I must also agree that the voice acting is supurbe, somewhat better than the origonals, for the most part
there is a wingman I don't like, though I don't know wich one it is, but all the important people sound perfict.
and the new interface and background was a pleasent shock

Since most mods are months of hype, then suddenly they disapear; TBP wins by default on most in being the best mod ever. And it's only the begining.

My only complaint is the lack of multiplayer missions (I think there is one, right?), but I am working on converting the single player missions to multi. Just gotta get past the "no secondary weapons" problem.

Other than that the lack of an Omega model in this release (I might of missed it) The Babylon Project, so far, has exceeded my expectations. Great work guys.

Now when is the next version!

I also blame IceFire arbitrarily - for Warzone, I was employed as tester and "spelling fixer" for him

I'll do it again if you like, Ice...

My mission... ahhh, one piece of work eh? I had to erase a lot of enemy ships to make it easier. Would you want that I release the original one? That's one tough nut to crack... (can I say something like that?)

Well... Eternal One said that LODded versions will be released as a patch or in the next release... I just hope that it will be a patch. Those ships are killing me.

I hope that this wingman is not the one that Mackie did... well, I didn't like it but don't blame him. He is a Finn as am I but I've been studying to imitate Darth Vader, Caleb (from Blood), Duke Nukem etc. etc. and somehow I learned how to pronounce English very well.

I was the voiceactor for EAS Stockholm (third mission) and EAS Napoleon (fourth mission), some of the TBP team possibly still believes that I'm an American.

I think the voice acting was superb, I was glad to see some female voices in there too
just think yourself lucky, if I had discovered the voice acting you would have a scottish starfury pilot and believe me my girlfriend has trouble understanding me sometimes.
hopefully if they are wanting more voice actors you will see a mad scottish pilot somewhere along the lines,
I have one question about the multiplayer, will we be able to use mics over the net? I got a handy one that hooks round your ear and has a mic right at the mouth good quality not bad for £6

voodoo3....how quaint, lol

and as far as downloads go, I helped with technical assistance and voice on TBP and I still don't have it!!!

make with the mirrors already, and smack those bips at Fileplanet around, only one lame ass server in Italy of all places.

Kellan: Aye....some proofreading might be good. Since I'm one of the few native English speaking on the team (not to discount the others at all), I basically did the writing.

If you can fix the text AND make sure it fits the stuff being said by the voice actors....then you're good to go

I'm very impressed with the accents. So often do we hear really fake accents in different movies (because we KNOW that the actors are American) and its really nice to hear some variation. It really feels like the Earth Alliance and not just one group.

Well, that's a good point IceFire. And if you take B5 in general, a large amount of the charecters are American, British or Russian. The mods EA is more realistic, with people from all arounf the world, though if this keeps going on, I don't think we'll have any Arabs in 2245.

Edit: Ok, Ok bad joke, don't crusify me, just ignore it.

Posted by Perch on 10-13-2001 07:54 PM:

This is not important thing, but the energy setting is balanced to guns, shields, and engines. Is this done tensionally? Because, now i can/should concentrate energy just to engines and guns, bacause starfury doesn't have shields, as we know. However, its more fun to fly it that way.

Posted by Slasher on 10-13-2001 07:57 PM:

Thumbs up

I'm all for having varying accents in the game. If there was an EA in 2245, it is possible English would be the language of choice, but I sincerely doubt everyone would be speaking with American accents. That'd be sad. With different sounding voices, it'll make it seem as though people from all around the world really are contributing to the defense of Earth.

BTW, send my compliments to the people(s) that did the command briefing animations. They look just as good as anything V did and could pass for the real B5 CGI any day.

Posted by Salamander on 10-13-2001 09:26 PM:

A Call to Arms proved that there are accents on Earth. Just watch the part where the Russian General asks Sheridan if he is serious about the attack.
