Question What's Next?

No I am not asking for the next update...But I am asking...What will you guys do after BWO?... Or course take a break because I know you guys need it but any new great campaign in the works?...We need all we can think of

I think this will probably be my last. I keep getting new ideas here and there, but I think its time for me to stop.

Hmmm. I still have lots of ideas, but as you say, FS2 is getting old. I'm also getting less and less free time, so it may be helping other people out a bit (on Bobboau's Dark Breed for example).

I have two other promising ideas. One is Chronos Shift, and the other is adding bits onto the BWO story from different perspectives. Those will become more obvious as we release the demo and other bits and pieces, but there are at least two that I think would be interesting to take a look at.

True enough, but how many people will be playing it before long? Not many, I'd imagine. People can *sniff* be so... *sniff* ...cruel...

As Kellan said, I might help a few very select campaigns a bit. But nothing big like we've got here

I agree...Freespace has been set in stone for years...If people still play it...then freespace never die...that is if they download user-made missions or make thier own...And it is veyr much my fav game...It was like wing commander all over again but much better.

Command: Kill those Sathanas.
Alpha 1: What are you nuts?
Command: Do it now or we will pull rank.
Alpha 1:Ha ha ha...command all I have to do it this "Esc Quit Exit"
Command: NOOOOO!!!!

I agree it's the best game I have, and I hope fervently for an FS3 to totally invalidate all the work I've done on various campaigns in the past couple of years...

It also helps that the editor is easy enough for a monkey like me to use. UnrealED made my head hurt and go wooooooozy.

That's always been my biggest fear, that all the campaigns that have been written since FS2 came out will be invalidated if they make FS3.

I think that if FS3 does happen...they will probably take it several decades into the future. Its what I would do for sure.

It wouldn't invalidate, or invalidate nearly as much as it would if it were much closer to the previous game and therefore the user created campaigns.

It would also allow the introducting of new technologies, alliances, factions, and changes and enhancements to the universe that would make sense gameplay wise as well as universe wise.

If FS3 were in my hands, I'd take it nearly 100 years after FS2. Gives it a much grander scale. It makes the Shivans seem like a long distant threat...or it makes them more imposing than ever. Gameplay wise I'd probably want to be able to seemlessly jump between one area to the next and let entire star systems become the playground of the pilot. If we took the structure back to FS2, you might on your third playthrough try and go and visit the Sathanas fleet near the Capella sun.

Anyways, I'll leave with that
