-- Volition's next game? (http://volitionwatch.papageorgefamily/vwbb/showthread.php?threadid=7404)

Volition's next game?

Volition is now in the process of making Red Faction 2. Once these are done they will have made 3 games of 3 genres and 3 sequals. What's next? Will they continue making fun and unique games of other genres to broaden their audience and experience? If so, what?

Wish I could post a poll...

Red Faction 3 and Summoner 3 would probably be sure-fire bets. Why wouldn't they continue on with the success?

Gah! Arcade (and by that, I assume you mean stuff like Need for Speed and Burnout) racing games are the only ones worth playing.

[V] started on Descent...dunno what tocall that, then moved to space sims, then to FPSs and Adventure style RPGs. They could go literally anywhere from here. Personally I'd like to see a [V] RTS - twould be sweet. But wuth THQ running the show now, well we can expect such gaming gems as mission based snowboarding or some pathetically over priced, half developed, aimed at the lowest common denominator franchise game. Grrr.

A RTS by Volition...hmmm...if they went away from THQ and joined another one, who cares about supprot, it would be good...

Great. Just when I thought we were safe from Britney's Dance Party 5, Todd's got to go open his damn mouth.

Seriously, who would you rather look at all day, Parker from Red Faction or the delectable and nubile Britney Spears? You can always just turn the speakers down or something.

Posted by aldo_14 on 10-05-2002 08:58 PM:

Development plan for Britneys Dance Beat 3450 (all formats)

Assigned time; 12 months

Research (looking at pictures of Britney Spears); 10 months
Modelling & animating Britney Spears; 1 month
Other art; Er... later, eh? i'm still doing Britney.*
Engine coding; 1/2 month
Game coding; 1/2 month
Quality testing; Don't be daft

*Double entendre intentional
