Question Weapons : Who uses what, and what will we see

So... to sumarise...

Centauri use missiles and a pulse-type weapon as well as mass drivers.

Narn use heavy bean weapons, energy mines and pulse weapons on fighters

Minbari use beams throughout

EA uses pulse/beam/missile

Is this right?

And what will we get to see?

I missed that when I checked it.

Brings a startling image to mind doesn't it!

As Larry Niven put it: The effectiveness of an engine as a weapon is propotional to it's power as an engine!

heavy bean weapons????

How could they lose the war against the Centauri?

That kind of "advance" technology could lead to a new kind of ship...
The Narn Planet Killer!!!!!!!

Beams are good but take some time to recharge where'as pulse weapons can fire off quicker and more shots creating more damage.

The Interstellar Alliance forbids the use of the devastating bean weaponry. They are just too stin...*ahem* deadly...

In terms of player weapons? Various pulse and missile weaponry attached to the fighters. Minbari are the only fighters to use beam weapons and they won't be proper beams until Source Code is used.

So... This devasting bean weapon you speak of Ice, can't it be deflected with some sort of tortita shell? Purhaps a gaint taco shell? .... but what if they use advanced bean weaponry, like baked beans, then we'll all be in trouble...

As to Flakbait.... Did they have beam weapons in Ender's Game? I know they had the little Doctors(md's) that cause matter to explode as in the case of the fleets of Bugger ships and a certain planet.... now that is a weapon... the more mass an object has that come in contact with the missile, the bigger the explosion... Kinda like Gambit's power from the X-Men....

I was trying for a pun. Bean weapons-the character Bean-it didn't work.

Obviously.

One typo and the world changes.

I personnally feel that the Narn Heavy Bean Weapon is an area-denial device, clearing a target location of any unprotected personnel.

A Weapon of Mass Digestion you might say

Indeed, Grey Area... A typo can mean the difference between life and death. This includes oral typos i.e. "small" flaws with pronunciation as well. Try to imitate British accent when speaking with an American... He or she will cry with laughter after the first two or three sentences. And then you manage to spit out an insult.

BTW, will the horrible beam hit effect be fixed for R2?

Indeed. I used to do the same thing with my fellow Brits in my punk days.

I have a rather polished accent and, when arranging to meet people for the first time, would always use my most cultured and refined voice. That way I could enjoy their expressions when I turned up in ripped jeans, leather with 30cm+ bright purple Mohican

The slight help the Shadows gave might have had something to do with the Centauri victory.
