S1: If a summon is killed, Joseph loses HP?
On page 23 of the manual, it says if the summon is killed, Joseph will lose the MAX HP's used to summon the creature permanently. I don't quite understand. Someone please explain.
For Example:
Joseph has 200 Max HP. If a summon dies, he will lose a few points, so his maximum is now only 197? Is this how it works? So don't mess up too many times, or Joseph won't have good Max HP?
I don't recall that ever happening. The main thing to remember is that Joseph shares HP with his summon, so is therefore weaker and if you have the Spirit of Laharah and it dies, that can sometimes tip Joseph over into death as well.
But I never noticed a permanent decrease in Joseph's HP for any reason

No, it's a very confusing point in the manual. Joeseph doesn't lose any HP when the Summon dies/gets banished. it's only tempory while the summon is in use.

The bit where Joseph permanently loses HP was removed, because it could lead to problems for players who send their summoned creatures into ridiculous battles.
If you lost enough creatures, you wouldn't be able to summon any more.
