video problem for FS1

Although FS2 works flawlessly in both low- and hi-res formats, I can't seem to get the textures for FS1 to look crisp. They are always muddled and the pixels are huge in the subspace effect. That's what happens when I turn on hardware acceleration. When I turn it off, the textures are crisp, but they lack the color and depth that hardware acceleration brings.

I have an old ATI Rage Fury Pro 128 w/ 32 MB of VRAM on a PIII 800 w/ 128 MB RAM, which is more than enough to play FS1. So it can't be my hardware. I would very much appreciate it if someone could help me with this.

In doing so, tell me how your video works for FS1

P.S. By the way, is there any way for FS2 to recognize my video card as OpenGL instead of D3D?

Have you tried applying the registry hacks?

I don`t know if they are the correct solution for your problem but since they do improve the quailty of the graphics in FS2 they might solve your problems.

Have a look at the second posting on this thread
