Cool I'm the New Guy

I'm pleased to introduce myself to all of you as a new writer for the Project. After the first release I decided to see if the team could use a hand in the mission scripting, dialogue and other general writing snazzyness department and lo and behold, after 30 or 45 emails, 91 cups of coffee and a Pony for Skullar, I got the gig. From now on I'll be responsible for helping to write the missions from concept to debrief, with all the nuts and bolts in between.
Sound like fun? Of course it doesn't...it would be bad enough having to deal with Icefire's "ritual torture" initiation but then we've got CptWhite trying to convince me that every mission should involve Talia Winters because she’s, "just so hot." Shudder.
Moving right along...I'm always interested in getting feedback from you folks about what you'd like to see in missions...this project is as much for you as it is for our personal gratification at giving birth to something in the B5 universe. As a piece of background...I've been trying to get my hands on a 'fury since ITF was still a pipe dream. I've lurked around since the original sierra board where Marc and some of the others tried to bring ITF between the candle and the flame. Didn't happen, (lousy...Vorlon..."You're not ready for a great game yet" mindset) but I've wanted to get my plasma warmed up since then. Be that as it may, I would like to hear from everyone, either on here or by my email, what you'd enjoy seeing in missions. Obliviously not everything will get in, and I can't even guarantee anything will get in...but I'll damn well try because I want to foster the same sense of community and individual genius that is needed to really carry this project along until Volition makes like Valve did with the CS team and just starts paying us.
Never let it be said I did not have grand aspirations.

Pleasure to meet you all,

Chaucer

Emotions!

Well Chauser, welcome to the boards and to the team

I don't speak for everybody, but I would like some really epic scenes that evoke emotion. Have some simply unwinnable missions, some really moving lines and command briefings, etc.

I'm working on a mission at the moment, I'm aiming for a sence of tension and vulnerability. I know this post seems as if posted by a stoned hippy, but really try to twinge the emotions of the players. This is why I enjoyed TBP so much, not just the gameplay but the emotion of it all

Once again, welcome

Wink specific email address

Now, I know you're thinking to yourselves...wow...what a cool guy...twice in one day! I take vitimans...I can do things mere mortals can only do occasionally.

The actual point of this little message is to let everyone know that, because I am the afore mentioned cool guy, I've made a special email address for you all to harass me with mission ideas if you don't want them up on the board here. I know there have been times I've had a good idea for something but I wasn't interested in getting it taken through the mill on a BB...so if you've got an idea and want me to read it and work it through with you, even if it's for your own mission, drop me a line at

"babylon5project@aol.com"

Good lord I'm cool

Icefire....put that paste away...I told you if you don't stop eating that you'll get a tummie owie again.
