Play by Play of the public beta
Already some bug smashing has occured, Griffon UK and silversword both found errors in the .fsc file that prevented the loadout screens to display their contents properly.
Of course, it's been fixed.
Check out this thread for further updates on smashing those pesky chitinous things...

Well as I told G-UK, over 80% of the testers aren't having the crash bug.
I'll still check into it, since it seems tied with the red-alert script as well as Alpha 2's message timing. (though how this could possibly crash FS2 on some systems remains a mystery to me)
Still, for the rest out there, don't worry, the final release will be smooth sailing.

Maybe Alpha 2's message occurs right at the mission start, & the red alert tag is still configuring the loadouts based on the previous mission on slower PC's... could be that...

It could just be that Ace made a bigger mistake than that, but is too proud to admit he did...
Or what that other guy said... i dunno.
As I said before, most people aren't having the problem.
Also, I'll check on Alpha 2's messages, having them begin at mission start or with 'true' message-delay '0' should not cause any errors. (as it never has in the past, and never does with other campaigns)
UPDATE: It appears that certain processors are sensitive to the arrangement of the sexpt scripting in mission 3, it has been reorganized to function on all systems. The red alert tags between mission 5-6 are also being investigated.
