X-Wing Alliance mod

Has anyone on this forum any experience from X-Wing Alliance mod, which can be found at firstones.com. Does it work properly ?
I checked it out, but it didnt look very good. This mod still just gaught my eye, you know. X-Wing has better physics, but will it support beam-like cannons.?

What do you mean with better physics?
When you crash into another fighter, your course isn't changed. Al that happens is that you take damage and turn around the z-axis.
And the fighters don't slide even a little bit. They fly "like on rails" so to say. In FS2 theres at least a little bit of sliding implemented (and in TBP_Open even strafing which is FUN )
And concerning the beams: There is only one beam-like weapon in X-Wing Alliance and that is the Deathstar's main weapon.

And if my memory recalls, the X-Wing Alliance mod has been discontinued. Nor it was nothing special... good attempt though.
