The Wasteland

Any clues as to where I can find the gems for the consoles in the wasteland? Thanks and keep on summoning!

You have to kill the guys to get them. I actually found a cheap way to finish this part. Lure each one of the enemies out one by one and back off slowly. Keep shooting it with a crossbow and it won't hit you if you time it right. Just be sure you're only trying to hit one at a time. If more than one picks up on your, take off and run, then use the Hide ability.

Thanks that helped. I thought I was supposed to be the stealthy one. It's more fun just to blast away at the baddies anyway! Keep on summoning......

How the hell do you kill them? They have 1000Hp and I can only take off 1Hp at a time.

Which part of The Wasteland are you talking about, Skater Joe? The part with Sangaril?

Yeah I'm totally screwed. Looks like I'm going to have to start the game over.

Did you equip the crossbow and try that like I suggested?

I only do 1HP damage. I fought one of them for like 20mins and had only taken off 55HP's and they have 1000. It'll take hours just to kill one.

The big part about this stage is the key word "Stealth" meaning you don't engage them in face to face combat, but even if you do they are slow and you can wait for them to try to attack you and run around them to their back and then press the triangle button to backstab them, very decent damage I was getting 488 dmg per backstab when they knew I was there, but if you go into sneak mode and follow them backstabbing them will kill them instantly. Give it a try man, this is one of those things that isolate it from the mindless hack and slash gendre

the crossbow will work too like you said I did a little bit with it but still had to finish em off with backstabs when they got on top of me

I'm gonna try that now! I hope it works!!

Posted by Skater_Joe on 09-29-2002 05:19 AM:

Backstap only takes off 1HP so I am screwed.

Posted by Orange on 09-29-2002 06:16 AM:

dude.. there's no way that's possible if you're actually doing it right. If you use SNEAK and then manuever yourself behind it, it will ALWAYS do more than 1 damage. Even at the VERY beginning of the game when your characters are Lvl 1 with no upgrades. You must be doing something wrong.

What can I be doing wrong? I sneak up undetected, press triangle to backstab and it only takes off 1HP.

I think I know why, unequip whatever type of enchantment you have on your character. You must be enchanted with whatever they are immune to, causing that to happen, I did that in the book of Neurashshsh(sp?) not gonna try to spell it but in the book, I only had one character not equiped with ice or fire or something and one that was equiped with energy and he was doing good dmg, plus really good tip if you hadn't thought about it, is if you are fighting undead use the destroy undead, and the control undead it will save you alot of time and make it very easy for you

Whee! Thanks!!!!

Thank you so much BiteofZim!! I had a ring that was giving my weapons the energy atribute. So I unequipped that and now I'm kicking ass. Woo hoo! Man I thought I was going to have to start the game over.
Thanks again!!

doin the sneak and backstab approach works well. for me i killed them with one hit gettin up behind them and usin backstab while in the sunken state mode.

Yeah once I took that ring off I killed them in one hit with backstab.

nice i never knew how powerful sangril really was until i had to go solo with her which made me use her a lot more. plus i had to level her up for that xaoset sidequest. i got to level 16 and then went and killed him. it took me a couple tries to figure out how to kick his ass plus i had a sword that had 70 strength and a stamina talisman that boosted my hp. so it wasnt too hard.

A lot of times I like to use her in solo mode and have her sneak (well sunken state) and backstab. You have to be in solo mode though otherwise the other party members give your group away :O

if you are fighting a boss unless they are extremely fast, you should be able to take them out at most any level, just stand still wait for them to attack run around them backstab them, its very effective
