A couple of Questions..

Does any one know the answer to these questions?

Is there any gore in RF2 eg, when you shoot someone with a rocket launcher, do they explode into pieces?

How many bots can you have in the multiplayer if there are 2 humans playing as well?

Can you set the number of lives in the multiplayer games, so that say, you have 2 lives, after that you have to watch?

Is there team death match this time?

Just another quick question, Can we use vehicles in multiplayer?

Also i hope that [V] put more time into the multiplayer this time, as i think most people play the single player 3, 4 or even 5 times threw , but a good multiplayer lasts for years, eg perfect dark, which i still play.

in the videos people dont explode

Red Faction 1 has the best multiplayer in history. I don't care what people think it's lacking. What it has right now, aside from the cheaters, somehow gets people to play as a team, the netcode is amazing, and the weapons are perfectly balanced.

console-wise its good not great; not enough options

RF1 multiplayer was poor...

the SMG had to be edited to be feasible
the rocket launcher was useless except for digging
the assult rifle behaved poorly
the Fusion rocket launcher was a joke here are you running around with a recoiless launcher you could fit on a veichle and it still couldnt cause large scale destruction on the geomod...
no veichles in multiplayer
overall it had good latency but still...

I have to agree with you on this.......

Doesn't matter what else I play, this is the one that keeps pulling me back.

Sounds like you suck.

I always found the RF multiplayer to be a bit bare-boned. It was totally fun, don't get me wrong, I logged tons of hours playing CTF but it didn't have the glitz of a lot of the other multiplayer games on the market, which were really expansive since they were multiplayer-ONLY. The console was also 2 player deathmatch only, which was kind of limited even though the action was still fun. By adding just a few more options they could really make it the best PS2 FPS multiplayer game in RF2.

I've heard that RF2 has those features....along the lines of Perfect Dark for N64. If you haven't played that games multiplayer, let me tell you that it was nothing short of genius. Ultimate control over everything.

Halo

i recently played halo on the x-box and the thing that impresed me the moast was the size of the arenas they are amaizing i could bearly see to the other side i just hope that rf2 can be just as big. I would not care if they turned geo-mod off in the big maps (i mean large open spaces not lots of coridores(sp?)) an the graphics could also be taken down a a bit (less colours?)

P.S. sniper maches were amaizing

Posted by IceFire on 08-12-2002 08:13 PM:

Size of the level is probably not going to be like Halo. Two reasons...one...the Halo engine was designed to be the big expansive outdoor engine right from the start. Red Faction's engine does outdoors but not quite like that.

Second...the X-Box is throwing around alot more firepower than the PS2. Now I bet RF2 is going to be pretty amazing at using the PS2 to full potential but its very limited compaired to the PC and the X-Box and GameCube which both have alot more memory and processing power.

Sub machine gun is a very good weapon 4 long range and by useing "skill" ive took down a lot of ppl wif HMG's wif my lil ol SuB(usally causeing me 2 be banne from that server but its all fun )

The rocket launcher is a gr8 weapon in the hands of a skilled user and especially 4 defending. BTW digging holes can be a huge advantage 4 ur team in CTF.

The Assualt Rifle is the best allround weapon in the game!

This game is set in the future and the fusion doesnt look much like a rocket. So the makers could make that gun if they want. I actually hate it but it doesnt come in2 the game all that much and i can dodge it most of the time.

Yea what other game has geomod?

Id have liked the possibility of veichles... but i doubt the best lvls would have them anyway.

In someways the netcode is good.. others like giveing some high pingers an advantage it isnt.

So overall RF is a very good game. Infact a gr8 game and im sure it would also be a very popular game if it wasnt for modding and gitching problem.

I would have 2 agree wif cece and say it doesnt look like u have a lot of skill with the commets u made

Heh I finally got bored enough to come here and Allan is right. Anyone who thinks The AR is useless is obviously a n00b. Mostly because pretty much all teh good players will take an AR over a HMG any day of the week.

As for the rocketlauncher I have seen some terribly deadly people with it.

As for vechiles I honestly dont like the idea of vechiles in multiplay because you just end up with two people driving back and forth the whole time running people over and capping(fun if yer driving but a pain if you are playing)

Posted by ahmedjbh on 08-14-2002 05:14 PM:

Todd, can u answer my questions?

I have to note that there is a massive difference between the multiplayer on the pc and the ps2, the ps2 version was painfully bad, the pc version was decent, but not ground breaking.

I just hope they spend more time on the ps2 multiplayer, as last time it was more of a last minute extra rather than integral part of the game.

Read. Find out. FYI, there are gibs in RF2

Posted by GalacticEmperor on 08-16-2002 12:25 AM:

mmm, red, juicy, meaty gibs.

Seriously, I don't see how your rockets cah blow a hole in a wall but leave a sack of meat intact. I'm glad we have gibs now.
