B5 Missions & Campaigns

Hi all, I have just joined your group because I am mad about Babylon 5 and love the mod for freespace 2. I have never created missions in my life for any game. But because of the lack of missions and campaigns I have decided to Learn. I have just finished my second mission. I will be soon making many missions and campaigns which relate directly to the series. One i have just finished is Shadow Fodder. This is where you and 2 wingmen in star furies must destroy 4 psi transports carrying telepaths heading for the Omega X.

I am currently working on a full campaign with around 40 missions which should be ready in 6 - 8 weeks. I will also be building a website dedicated to missions & campaigns for the Babylon project. I will give you more details after I have finished of the site.

Good Job on the MOD.

1 thing though, I am a 3d modeller & animator but I don't have time nor have i modelled stuff for mods before, but if anyone can help with some new ships it would be great if I could get some more ships - Babylon 5 station, Shadow Battlecrab, White Star, Shadow Fighter and a vorlon fighter. Please help .. ..

The ships you are asking for are being developed by the team...but in due time. Some may be very soon (in a couple of months), others may take longer.

My first campaign was supposed to take 6-8 weeks and be 20 missions long. It ended up being 20 missions long and took 10 months. Not to be discouraging, but it does take time sometimes

Thanks for your e-mail and good wishes. Sorry I have been a while getting back to you, i have been doing some missions for the campaign I will be releasing in the near future. I am in the process of adding some atmosphere effects and final polishing of the 4 missions I have done. These missions will require a sample pack which will also be a free download. The first 4 missions will be finalised and posted by Sat this week. I will send you the url in a day or 2. Thanks for your interest. Heres whats to come.

4 mission now done.

Missions Complete -

Season 2 campaign - Mission - Wake up call

Desc. You are alpha leader in Ivanova's squadron, your mission is to surprise attack a raider fleet inside a very volatile nebula. Be careful! If they manage to jump inside the nebula, then the whole nebula will go bye bye..

Season 3 campaign - Mission - Shadow Fodder

Desc. De ja vu of Ship Of Tears. The Psi-Core is now exchanging their own telepaths for shadow technology, in the hope that their military strength will be enough for a future telepath war. You must destroy the 4 Psi crew transports which are carrying rogue telepaths, they are going to dock with the Omega X. Its a new joint EA / Psi-Core ship which is top secret. Those transports can not dock with Omega-X or the shadows will have even more cpu's for more ships. Destroy all 4 transports, watch their escorts. Take on the omega X for the bonus objective.

Season 3 campaign - Mission - Easy Pickings

Desc. You have just jumped into a war zone. A distress call was received from GKar who is meeting an informant onboard a civilian star liner. An EA supply convoy who is travelling with the star liner is also under attack. A percentage must make it to the jump gate. You must help GKars shuttle escape from the star liner. It must dock with the Agamemnon, where you have been posted for 6 weeks. The Agamemnon's jump drives need 10 minutes to recharge, make sure it survives the wait.

Season 4 campaign - Mission - Ambush In The Dark

Desc. Your wing (alpha) is to escort 2 supply freighters as a decoy. There have been many attacks around this sector on unarmed supply transports. The alliance wants to know whos behind them. Its your job to find out! You will escort the 2 freighters, if enemy ships jump into your sector Sheridans ambush fleet will jump in. Delen & Sheridans fleet is in hyperspace waiting for our unknown attackers to show. Escort the 2 freighters, if attacked help Sheridans forces secure victory!

All these missions are now done, my friend is currently testing them, so they will be available in a few days. These missions are single missions out of the 40 mission campaign I have planned. The whole campaign will be like a story (most based on B5 episodes) where you will posted to different outposts and stations over the campaigns. It would really help if i can get the B5 station ship, then I can get cracking with many of the missions I have planned. Im in the middle of moving house, starting my second business and getting ready for my art exhibition! But what the hell, I love Babylon 5! I will post the url for download in a couple of days.

Yes...it would definately help us too to get our hands on Babylon 5, but unfortunately the model is not yet textured or ready to be placed into FreeSpace 2 yet.

These things do not happen overnight. Paitence. We've taken three years to get here....

On the whole the entire campaign sounds well thought out and fun to play. I have a small problem with this mission in that you've got an Omega-X appearing way before they were seen in the show.
Now if this was a single mission where you were flying Black Omega starfuries that might work (since some in Psi-core may have know about the Omega-X). But otherwise surely someone would have mentioned to Sheridan, Ivanova and the rest that Earth had managed to combine shadow tech with their destroyers?

I'm also creating a campaign up to probly 8-12 missions of an rouge telepath from the Psi-core who is a EA Rebel. currently only 2 missions are complete.

On yeah I'm sort of beginning of this after that Civil War campaign posted by whats his name I forgot a couple of months ago.

hate to be an impatient son of a ***** but i was wonderin how long away ur 2.1 patch is gonna be (in an absolutely rough sense)? i really want some decent missions and proper beams to blast people with!
