Texture torture

In Truespace 4.2 :

and in Freespace 2:

error occurs with the faces that have textures applied with Repts values <1 ( and adapted offset values )

In addition to this the Main Hull uses Repts 0.9 or so to stretch it , but in freespace the hull is wrong.

I could bypass all problems if I wouldn't use multitex per file , but then I would have lots of smaller textures and not 3 big.

Any suggestions ?

Told you guys we wouldn't settle for anything less than high quality models and textures. This is an example of Tomcat doing the mesh, Wingnut's old textures, and Skullars UV mapping and texture mapping.

Posted by Mr. Fury on 04-13-2001 08:41 PM:

Absolutely! This is going to be a high quality mod. We've seen only models and texturers so far, what about sounds?

Posted by Ghost of Bobboau on 04-14-2001 07:39 AM:

I told you there were some problems with that model. most of the problems are due to the offset and whatnot, you souldn't have to use the scale or offset bits. I think you should try to get it projected on two maps.

So there is no direct solution for the repts and offset problem.
OK, then I'll bypass it the conventional way.

Posted by Eternal One on 04-14-2001 04:35 PM:

There is no such thing as an offset problem. Only way to cause problems is if you make repetition less than 1, offset never causes problems.

Posted by Skullar on 04-14-2001 04:52 PM:

However , I have split up the textures in 9 files.

3*256
3*128
2*64
1*32
instead of
2*512
1*128

I HATE texturing......

I have bypassed the problem.
And I wont touch this damned shuttle any more. Now it's storywriting for me.

Oh. I have to texture the Vorchan. **** !

Seems to be mounted under the chin. Then the twin arrays are top and bottom just infront of the top "wing".

You guys are getting close to having everything you need for a good Earth-Minbari war capaign.

I think all your missing is the nova, hyperion, flyer, and that other minbari warship.

Posted by CptWhite on 04-15-2001 09:32 AM:

nova is 50% done

hiperion is 95% done

not sure about the others.....percentages are in terms of model/texturing

tinashi model is almost done as well i believe cos i am gonna try and texture it

Whoa! Cool looking Shuttle there Skullar!

Damn... should I also start texturing the ships? This is some freakin awesome s**t! In the other hand I'm already busy making those damn James Moores' Operation Avatar missions because other mission designers vanished out of nowhere (X-Files effect ) and I need to do my Counter-Strike level...

Could someone give me a direction to the nearest texturing tutorial or must I contact Eternal One?
