tbl questions ?

Is there file size limit in tbl files.
Recently I took pretty much stuf from volition archives, new ships
etc... I kept adding ships in tbl files, but after a while FS2 didnt started anymore, perhaps I was too Greedy ?. Sorry to ask it here
but I dont think I have use to another account in nearly similar FS2 site. I read from somewhere that there is a limit, cant remember what it is though.

Also can I add more than one ships.tbl file in tables directory. In example "ships2.tbl", or somthing like it

About 380k is the limit unless you use the open source and it will only look at the ship.tbl file.
