Summoner Watch: 2 New Summoner Interviews

Posted by Orange:

According to everyone's pal, Dynamo, Stomped, and RPG Vault have both posted new interviews with Volition about Summoner. RPG Vault interviews Anoop Shekar here and Stomped interviews Anoop Shekar, Adam Pletcher, and Mitri Van (you try spelling his _full_ last name ) right over here. The Stomped interview is especially enjoyable because they keep calling Mitri, "Van" throughout the entire interview. I have a short attention span and found that amusing. Yay!

Oh.. here's about the only thing I could find worth quoting in the Stomped interview:
Stomped: Where do you get your inspiration for creating the creatures and people in the game?

Pletcher: At the start of the project, the artists did a lot of research into traditional Medieval Europe as well as feudal Japan and China. Each of the two continents, Medeva and Orenia, have a very different feel, from the architecture down to the items crafted there.

Our methodology for creatures was a bit different. The first thing we really thought was “how can we make this monster/character as non-traditional as we can?” We really didn’t want Summoner to seem like another RPG off the same presses as others.

Enjoy!
