Anti-Depressant

Right every one seems rather gloomy, so i thourt that i might open up a thread dedicated to anti-unhapiness.......

You have to talk about other peoples mods and stuff not yourself.

Example

my faverate thing in the freespace community is *cough* me *cough* waighting for the black water opps to be releced coz the best Modders have been working on them.

Example

The way everyone helps each other out.

Thats depressing for me, it means I have to finish it

No thats not depressing. Nevermind.

Of course it's not, it means I get to have fun making missions and stuff!

Right...the things I'm most looking forward to in the FS2 community are:

- AoD - from the little I have seen it's special, though I won't say how because I don't want to blow the secret or overhype it. Dark is busy enough already, hehe...

- The Return to Neo-Terra project - Shrike, Setekh and BC05 (plus others I've forgotten no doubt) have a good concept and a grand plan. I'd like to see the FS1 - FS2 period covered comprehensively, and if it's done right it could be great.

- Machina Terra - Because it's all so mysterious, even to me!

So...there you go. I totally copped out by choosing three things, but I could've chosen loads more without the resort to self-p1mping. Honest.

At the moment it's just the three of us, you didn't miss anyone. If you're looking for work post BWO, you're welcome to come onboard.

Beer and slave girls cheer me up.

Do we have any of that?

Posted by Shrike on 05-11-2001 04:14 AM:

Posted by Styxx on 05-11-2001 04:20 AM:

Sounds good.

Posted by Jabu on 05-11-2001 02:58 PM:

Wow... and I've only told people about my campaign at HLP

Probably means that I'm going to have to try to get it done sometime

Oh, I'm waiting for Unholy Alliance, since no-one seems to have mentioned that.

Posted by Shrike on 05-11-2001 10:20 PM:

Like killing of one race, and introducing 2 new ones isn't totally changing it.

Plus, the amount of work to actually make something like that is beyond staggering.

Posted by ETAK Project on 05-11-2001 10:21 PM:

Ehh???

To explain all that quantity of information, you must make like a 80 mission´s campaign.

Also, the Vasudans are rooted in tradition and history. They are not stupid. They, out of the two species, is less likely to make a crucial mistake like this one.

The Vasudans would not send their entire fleet to one battle. Its probably happened in their history where such a gamble was made...and such a gamble failed. Its no doubt happened in Earth history too. But im not going to recount anything because I can't remember any specifics.

The Vasudan homeworld has already been virtually destroyed. They survived that and grew back stronger. What makes you think this renewed attack would do anything. Especially since the Vasudans have scattered their population over several worlds now.

I doubt this is a realistic scenario. Not the way its presented anyways.

The rest of the scenario sounds like FreeSpace 2 all over again with different names.

Ice, if you're looking for an example in the human terms of things, the Spanish sending the majority of their Armada to conquer England and the horrible luck that befouls them. Basically, Spain hasn't very much to do with world politics since.

I wish more campaigns were made that based took on a whole new perspective of FS2,but didn't TOTALLY change it.

e.g:-(this would be the "bring-the-pilot-up-to-speed" briefing) :- 39 years after the destruction of Capella. We mourn the loss of our Alliance with the Vasudans.after about 7 years after the 2nd Great War,just when we were well underway of recovering from the loss of capella, the shivans found another way into our systems through the Ross128 system. The Vasudan Imperium became extremely vigilant, and following their traditions and their determination, and not their orders, every single vasudan warship, freighter, bomber, fighter, and fleet went immediately to Ross128 to fight the shivans. The shivans took extreme losses, but the vasudans were destroyed.Enraged by this, the shivans completely avoided the terran systems and went directly to Vasuda where they overruned the system and destroyed it by firing beam cannons from their capital ships.

The Vasudan Race has being completely wiped out.

But the terran race vowed vengeance, and we launched mighty attacks on the shivans, and destroyed them.

We now face a larger threat, much more powerful than the shivans. They have emerged in the wake of the shivans, and share the same purpose.

We now know that they created the shivans, not the Ancients,as we suspected. They were created by a powerful, galaxy dominating race known as the Alkari.A race born to rule the galaxy. But we have also discovered another race known as the Persidans. They have created an alliance with us.we are now known as the GTPA.Their race have been fighting the Alkari race for 67 years. When the Alkari found our race, they knew that they wouldn't be able to defeat the Pesidans,Vasudans and the Terrans all at once.So they created the shivans,a race which could survive in nebulas, build its empire at a marvellous rate, and know every other species it encouters except the Alkari as hostile.

Now,to bring space to peace,we must eliminate this ruthless, insane race, and bring the Alkari Empire down.
