Oooooh dear!

Right lads, I have a problem. the source code won't run any of my missions for Maelstrom (I haven't been working on it since before xmas). The minute I try to run, it just crashes out to the desktop.
I was thinking, is this a table limit thing? How far have they been set?

Which version? Release 3.4 should work fine, but the current build is a bit unstable right now. We're working on it.

3.4 doesn't work. FRED or FS2. I hope my data isn't f**ked.

I can open and run them under DTP's project. What are the main differences in table handling between dtp and scp?

you should use the debug build it will tell if you are doing anything wrong, and were it crashes,
and were exactly does it crash from, tech room, breifing/(weapon/ship) select, main hall?

Crashes when I actually commit to a mission in either tech room ,or by entering ready room.

I had the warp model, the 20x20 one I'll try the new one with fs2_3.4_debug..........

HOLY ****! *hides under desk* Man I'm getting errors about missing weapons - one which i do have "Meson Blaster" but also one - "Browning" which ain't in there at all! It finally crashes out when it comes up with an error about primarys.

yup that's all the stuff you're doing wrong and didn't know about, go through and make sure you spelled everything corectly (I'm assuming this is all at start up) most of these errors are more than likely from the ships table, you probly have available/defalt primary weapons that arnt in you're weapon tables or you misspelled them, I think I commited my better error mesages that tells you wich ship and were roughly the problem is.

Sounds familiar... Make sure you only have the FS2 and mod in question .VP files in the directory.

And check the tables. Do a search for browning.

Maybe a mission is using the Browning?

Thanks for all this help guys, I couldn't see the forest for the trees. I only need some help with the error messages:

ship.tbl(9470)
Expecting int, found [none ].

line 9470 is:

code:
$Short name: SDev

This occurs a few times.

Finally, I also get an error:

Assertion Failed: num_ship_types<MAX_SHIP_TYPES
Even I can guess what this is. However I don't believe I've breached the limit.
