OK.. heres the deal .. I was in Frys yesterday ( for those of you who dont know its a giant pc store ) and looking the games. went from jedi2 with cool sinister looking graphics of luke skywalker on it... and diablo which again looked sisister etc. anyway they all tried to look in some way or form sinister or devious or gothic etc. .... their theme followed the traditional following of most games today. As in good guy bad guy theory and a mix of mystery..etc.
By the way this is hard to explain so try harder...
anyway then I looked at RF and correct me if Im wrong but at first glance it looks like a kiddie game.. now I know it is a sense.. but so are all the other ones yet they dont advertise the fact .. in fact they try to cover it up to appeal to the older crowd as well as the younger.
Rf looked has a guy on it in plain cartoon type and unless you know the game has no appeal at all to it. I would never hace purchased it if not for the free cd in mag. about a year ago.
why does Volition not change this to a more appealing look to all genres. What I am talking about it not a little thing. I mean it really stands out from the rest as a poor cheap huggle bears or so game...
any ways this is just one man opionin .. wondering if anybody agrees with me..
I guarantee I or many others could have done better on the pr work for rf..

My copy is just a red DVD box with the Red Faction logo on the front. Nothing kiddie about that.

The real reason

multiplayer stinked hard. Where was the teams?, where was the goal based missions capture the flag, assault? where were the vehicles? I could go on and on, but i cant be bothered any more.

you cant go on cause well .. you cant.. heh
and where was the team work? hmm that sounds like something ya mightneed to work on. we have team work.
goal..to totaly obliterate demolish humiliate down right embarass the opposing team! heh
that or capture the flag which is all I really play. I have personally never seen a game more more player / team involved then rf...

The title of this topic is not true, Red Faction did good, maybe not as good for PC but overall it sold over 1 Million copies, according to THQ, and to me thats pretty good.

I also live in the uk and it doesnt have a cartoon guy on the front, i think cover is of minimal importance, as most ppl know what game they are going to buy before they see the cover and spend 40 quid on it. I dont think anyone has ever gone to a games store with the intention to buy a gmae, and declined, based on the cover, not unless they were looking for an excuse to not buy that game.
