Omega Class-are you out there?

Is there an Omega class destroyer out there on the net for download to FS2? I know The Babyon Project comes with a similar ship but....I want the real thing.

As far as I know, no. Sorry, you'll have to wait for TBP's second release.

I'm afraid you will have to wait like the rest of us as I know of no other that is doing B5 ships officially

The real thing vs the TBP model?

Your not trying to put the 10 bazillion poly one into the game are you?

I may be wrong but I think that Omega Squadron was referring to the Nova as the "similar ship"

Haha, good point Triggy.

Omega Squadron: Omega class destroyer is based on Nova class dreadnought's hull. Nova has been in service since Dilgar war, and is still used on planetary assaults in time of EA Civil war.

Production of Omegas started soon after end of Earth - Minbari war, that's why it wasn't included in the demo. Next release handles with EA Civil War, every ship seen during the civil war will be in the next release.

Warlock class advanced destroyer is slowly replacing Nova, and partially even Omega. But even when Drakh crisis started, EA had only handful of Warlocks, expensive ships but damn powerful.

Omega Squadron: Look at the model status page, it shows the EA ships that will be in the mod. The Omega is one of them.

About the Omega: how fast will the Rotating section rotate? not too fast I hope, I don't think it would be fun to get hit by it while flying close to the omega

It will rotate as fast as it rotates in the show, or quite close nevertheless.

So be careful when flying near the omega

All info given so far is already known to me. When I said similar ship I was refering to the Nova. I wanted to ask if anyone else is making an Omega. But I'll probably just have to wait for release two.

I think Shark has already converted it, I hope we will see pics pretty soon...

We've got a version in game, but with no real textures, it aint too pretty at the moment.

We will have a bunch of new shots regardless shortly. Most of our efforts are on getting the patch out to you guys. This is more than just some minor mission bug fixes, this adds LODs to pretty much all ships.

You should see an improvement in performance.
