Availeable existing campaigns?

What are the availeable existing campaigns that you would recommend?

I have spotted the Babylon5 one, but I would like, if possible, to play campaigns that can run with little or no external MODS for a start (I am currently using OPEN_FS).

Check out Skippy's campaign list I highly reccomend Homesick. I was never that keen on Deralict but lots of other people are so you may want to try that afterwards.

There's about 60+ missions to keep you busy from those two alone

While I'm banging on about it. Is there any good reason why TBP, BWO and the other campaigns here haven't been bothered to go to this thread and get themselves onto the list?

One of these days I am going to set up an easy to use server to archive all known FS 1-2 campaigns. I'm sure there are already ones like that out there but I know people are always looking for a new central source of FS files. Do you think many people would be interested?

Sounds like a good idea.

Yea, I just got the machine I want to use as the server this weekend. I will be upgrading the RAM and Hard drive space momentarily. What interface do you think people would like better? Would they like an FTP interface or one similar to the what the V archives used to look like?

FTP seems a bit too techy for most, I'd go for something like Vwatch.

Or give people a choice, since some people do prefer FTP...

I am going to make this a project this summer. If anybody wants to submit any special files, send them to me. Otherwise I think I have pretty much everything on my hard drive that the olf V archives used to have. I will be designing the interface soon.

On the topic of the Thread - LM 3 and 4. LM3 is fully voice acted too, which is a bonus. And if voice acting is your thing, then you'll want the BWO demo too. Only partially voice acted, and, of course, only a demo, but still damned good fun. Casualties of War is worth a look too - I found quite a few bugs but most people seem to have enjoyed it, and there's some interesting mission design going on in there. Not voice acted though.

Yeah, we never got round to voice acting CoW - difficulties getting enough people. Same happened with Reci (we had wanted to record voice acting as each mission was completed), although that's a moot point now.

Actually tried to have every mission 'different' in some way. which mostly worked - although maybe I was a bit impatient towards the end, possibly should have allowed more beta testing.

(at least I managed to get one thing finished.........)

I think that was the key reason It was as well liked as it was. The models and suff were al very nice of course, but once you're in and playing that means a lot less than the quality and ingenuity of the missions/Storyline.

Should probably put at least part of the credit for that to Shadowwolf, of course. I just sketched basic ideas, he was the one that started to make something concrete from them. Tho i have a hell of a lot of stuff I still want to try out.......
