Red Faction 2 for PC?

Is there gonna be a PC release of Red Faction 2?
If not, why not?
If there will be a release, when?

There are rumors everywhere but no official response has been issued.

Basically THQ and V are the only people who havent said anything on the subject. But everywhere Ive seen seems to think its coming to PC? Who knows. THQ is starting to port more games now with really no notice. All of a sudden boom a console game on the PC shelves

The "Volition Watch Gods" have nothing to do with it. Hopefully, if the rumors are TRUE, we will be able to announce it.

I think you forgot the "s" on bugs

And yes, I will buy RF 2 for the PC as long as it has multiplayer over the internet (not gamespy) and as long as it uses the same type of netcoding as RF.

I saw on HLP that EB is starting to take preorders for it. V has never gone out and said that they weren't going to release RF2 on PC, AFAIK. They just haven't said anything about it either way.

Which many people logically assumed was "we're leaving our options open but don't count on it" but maybe it should be "we're leaving our options open" with no qualifier.

:\

More likely 'if it makes ****loads of money on the Ps2 we'll probably port it'. Although given RF2s reported short length, and the fact RF only lasted me about 6 hours (i.e. less than 1 weekend), i probably wouldn't buy it.

I'm not sure it makes great sense to release it, anyway - there's a massive amount of competition in FPS' on the Pc, and I'm not sure the hardcore fans would particularly appreciate the merits of a PS2 port compared to the likes of Unreal 2.

aldo: Unreal 2 isn't out yet so that's a relatively invalid comparison.

Plus, c'mon. Half-Life is the most popular online game right now and it's 4 years old. The "newer == better" comparison just doesn't always work. I mean, yes it worked for the Playstation 2 vs the Dreamcast, but it doesn't hold about, say, UT2003 vs HL - even just this year, I think HL in its various incarnations is bigger than UT2003.

Though some will argue UT2003 is a 4 year old game as well as its graphics enhancement on UT and thats about it
