I made a post about this a while back but it disolved into talk about a possible FS movie ( ) But anyway, we got work started on the MODs (Maeglamor's doing them) and here's some pics of the GTXD Mars:

Forgot to put spaces in between the IMG tags.

Looks Vasudan... like a big Anubis.

According to Maeglamor, it was originally designed for Homeworld, but it popped into his mind when he saw my crappy version.

Anyway, the Thor cannon (a fighter mountable beam cannon which is capable of taking out a Lilith in about 3 minutes) has been completed and work has been started on the Flare Gun, a modified Avenger designed for maximum subsystem damage. And Snipes, you're no the first person to compare this ship to a fighter. Someone on the VBB compared it to a Manticore.

Yeah... something along the lines of:

"It looks like a Manticore.

I hate Manticores.

I don't see how it looks like a manticore, it looks like a squared off anubis to me.

Get it textured and then we'll have a looksy. It looks good now tho.

After the Second Great War and seeing the effect beam cannons had on capship battles, the GTVA started work on adapting them for fighter use. The final result was the GTW-42 Thor. With a higher amount of damage than the Kayser and the ability to continue firing without breaks, the Thor cannon can take out a Lilith-class cruiser in 3 minutes without the help of missiles and bombs. The GTXD Mars is the first of a new class of destroyer, just a little smaller than the Collossus (~100m shorter), with two main weapons: twin BFReds on rotating turrets based off the ones mounted on the destroyed Sathanas and the scans done by Alpha 1. It most likely would be able to take on the Colossus 1-on-1, but only by taking huge amounts of damage, and two should be able to take out a Sathanas. However, it sacrifices defensive capability for the offensive power, so it still needs to be escorted.
