Help!
I'm having a little problem running FRED and Fs2.
Every mission i have created the past few days simply wont run on FS2! Whenever i try to start it up, it crashes back to desktop.
And if you are asking, i have Win98, so i have no idea what the problem could be :/
whats your processer stats?
AMD Duron, 800Mhz, SIS Video card (before you try pinning it on that, you should know that the campaign mission works and so does the other pre-created missions) 128 MB ram.
Have you tried assigning the player ship to a wing? A mission won't work if the player is not Alpha, Beta, or Gamma 1.
good point so what exactly happens when you load it. Describe for us every detail about whats happening then I think we can more easily relate to your problem.
If it's not the suggestions already listed try creating a new Data folder (with a missions subfolder) and putting the missions in that to see if it is a problem caused by a mod. Also have a look through your main FS2 folder and see how many .vp files you have. You should have 9 for a full install. If you've installed a mod you may have more and that may be the problem.

Are there any error messages that pop up when you try to save?

This is the problem exactly:
I launch FS2, select my player, go tech simulator, wait for all the missions to load and then select the mission i created. I hit 'commit' and it pauses for a second, with the mouse unresponsive (but this happens in normal loading as well) then the desktop appears at 640x480 resolution before it resizes and leaves me wondering wtf??
Checking on the .vp files, i just saw that i have only 8, but no mods have been installed here, and it is the original installation (from the CD) but i've copied the .exe files from the free version available at HoTU so i could use it without the CD.
I cannot update the file either, the patch always says that the file contents do not match and the update fails.
Another thing: I have put alpha wing, so no worries their. No error pops up while saving, which means the mission should work.
