Fighting for Sol... with the 1st Fleet

Its intresting to know that with hundreds of user-made missions and campaigns, all of them has the player fighting with the GTVA. There are about a dozen in which you fight with the Shivans... against the GTVA. There are a couple where you fight with the NTF... against the GTVA. Yet there are no missions or campaigns that you fight for Sol and with the 1st Fleet.

For those who actually come to this board and actually PARTICIPATE, try doing a campaign where you fight WITH the earth alliance (if there is one). Ships in FS2 might not all be in production, and certainly not the new Vasudan ships and maybe not even beam cannons or flak guns. But (and this may be to future VW creaters) try to tell the story from earth's side...

What would you all think if I released a campaign with earth?

Anyhow on Shivan campaigns, most that I have seen beyond Zarathud's Shivan mission are rather horrible. "The Shivan swarm, ph34r the overmind!" Poor writing, not well thought-out, etc.

That describes more than just Shivan campaigns.

I've tried some campaigns I was really hopeful about but then found that the creator thought it would be fun to have 10 missions filled with as many ships as possible and they just duke it out....

If you're patient, that will happen. But not in the way you might think.

Go for it! Any new campaign is good... even if it's crap or gets abandoned, you can still learn from it

Well,. Dark Alliance will have two parts,

and another where you fight for SOL,
to show two diffferent views on the same story.

Thats part of the idea. But we should probably release more on the story...still...the whole part about the Delta Serpentis Charon Portal should give something away about RETURNING TO SOL
