making new ships
what is the best program to make new ships in - i just been using blender which doesn't seem to be ideal, infact i'm having some well issues with it. any other free or cheap alternatives?
hmmmm.... so let me get this strait you want a 3D modeling program that is easy to use, powerful, is suported by a converter so ships can be imported to FS, and is free.
why didn't I think about that before shelling out for TS4

I was here then I wasn't, now I'm dead
free would be good but anything that is even close to being reasonably priced - i mean some of these things are like $900 and i'm not going to spend that much just so i can make afew extra ships for freespace
Try Blender...

hehe oops
how about truespace 2 or 3? they any good? they dont seem to badly priced
I got truespace2 out of a magazine free no strings attached.
a uk mag called "PC Format"
not the demo of it?????? that runs out after a while - i've used up my trial of it
It's not the demo, it's the full version
which issue was it? the current one??
hmmmmm ok using blender - i make a model - can you texture it in blender? i really need a walk through help from start to finish with making models - i can do bits and pieces but i have trouble with the whole thing together - anyway then i save it as dxf - then what do i do to it - when i try to bring it up in segeltuch theres nothign there
anyone know why when correcting the path and docking info and moving some of the primary weapons with PCS the lods would have changed? the model viewer shows the first and second detail levels switched? - and as far as i know i didn't do anythign like that
