An Amazing new FS based Idea!

Why not make a campaign/mod dooberry thing where you play as the Shivans? How much would that rock?!? just create a new HUD (not that hard as far as i'm aware) and a method of flying the shivan ships ([V] did it with the Mara, so it must be possible). This would just be so incredibly good! Imagine bombing it around in a Dragon blowing the beejeesus outta some medusa's or something!

Ideas, comments, anything?

Well, it is possible to fly the Shivan ships (you can actually fly anything, even cargo containers ), but the game will crash if the following things happen:

You sustain damage to too many subsystems (when you're flying ships with lots of turrets)
You go into the Ship Selection or Weapon Loadout screens

For anyone who doesn't know how to do this, go into FRED(2) and change the player ship to whatever you want, then save it. It will say that the ship is invalid for a player, just ignore this. Open the mission in FS1/2 and there you go!

(BTW, if you send orders to a Shivan wingmate, you get Terran voices

)

I had this idea a long time ago ask Griffon, made 1 mission for it i believe. i like the idea

Doable, but would any be willing to help me? I don't want another Small Victories (no offence Setekh or Thunder) on my hands, plus I've got exams and stuff coming up now. A summer holiday project prehaps?

I'd like to help, but I'm not all that good with FRED2.
