here
just wanted to show:

The jump point the omega is using is not flat but extends back.
In other episodes, it's shown up as flat. : shrug :

Extends back as it appears from the front (i.e. Into hyperspace) but appears flat from the side (i.e. In realspace). That is what normally appears but the first shot of the jump point forming there says otherwise.
[And people complain about CGI inconsistencies in Star Trek!]

I noticed this when I was surfing and wanted to point it out. I meant in the first post that it is not flat from the side and could be an error.
The frame where its opening? Thats because the event horizon (if I can call it that) to hyperspace is still forming in realspace.
Once the point is open, its pretty flat from the side. Its a long tunnel on the front.
Thats because its warping space and so the perception of someone entering the tunnel and someone from the side is going to be very different.

the most convincing evidence ive seen that its NOT flat is when the vorchan trys to blow up the jumpgate in the ISA/centauri war
thats definately not flat
basically i think it was both at different times of the show

Does it really matter if it's flat or not??

No, it doesn't. It cannot be anything else but flat in Freespace...
So that, as they say gentlemen, is that.

WEBSITE NOW UP AND RUNNING!!!!!
Ash...
You still don't understand do you?
There is both types of jump points, ones that extends back and ones that are flat. It is just the effect, an effect that can be changed. It was changed in Crusade.
We, howewer are using an effect that looks like jump point is extending back when looking from front of it but when looking from side, it looks flat.
There is no point to discuss whether jump point is flat or not, it's both! Only an effect that has changed time to time.
