What you mean to ask is...
WHAT DOES THE RELEASING OF THE FS2 SOURCECODE MEAN FOR BWO?
instead of spamming and putting this topic in yet another forum you could have said that. so, BWO people, would you care to answer?

Nothing directly. We can do all that we want to do inside of FreeSpace 2 for BWO.

What it may affect for us is if someone does up a upgraded DirectX 8 renderer...the game will look and run better. Proper FSAA (the force mode works a little too well, smoothing everything), specular maps and whatnot. If that happens before release (maybe even after), we'll upgrade our stuff to keep up.

Any future projects you can bet will benefit from the source.

The source code is basically the FS2 program, except now we can modify it to our hearts content. It's a good thing.
