Mission 2 is done. I havn't been able to test it to the end since i end up dying all the time. Hate those missiles 8)
Anyway. Since someone mentioned shields the other day i'd thought i'd ask: If the shiled is a blast/collision shield do i need to allocate power to it? I'm very tired of getting blast dammage when destroying other fighters up close and personal.
Same as befor, anyone wanting to test this mission or the first one, let me know

I'm not quite sure, but I think that they need power... After all even if it is a collision/blast shield it is still a shield and it needs power to work...
PS. Take of the missiles from weapons and replace them with nothing...
Send it to! I want. Mememememe...

Shields have only 10 points, so it will recharge almost immadiately, you need only minimum power allocation to shields and yet it will protect you from shockwaves.

Hmm...one time I made a 'mission' that was just an enormous cloud of Starfuries sitting still. I wanted to see what would happen if I shot one missile into the middle of all that. It was quite spectacular for a moment, then the explosion caught up with me too....
Plus I seem to get killed by shockwaves a bit too sometimes. Especially when I'm toying around with kamikaze and set the damage to 1 million.
We made a decision to be somewhat realistic (and in ways true to B5) and make it so that explosions near you really do hurt you. Shockwaves was too much because they can cover a big area but the blast sizes of most fighters I think is about 150-250 meters in size. So when you blow up a StarFury at 50 meters, you're going to feel its reactor go up too. So try and not be so close!

Just learn how to afterburn away from a kill. I think I caught Nial shockwave damage in the demo campaign twice. Ever.

Seems like Nials dont make so big explosions. When Zephyr blows that really hurts a lot (what those guys have in those scrap heaps?). Like I rammed a disabled Nial, and it blew up ofcourse, I didn't take too much damage. But when Zephyr goes boom nearby, you are happy to be alive...

Oh ****! Those idiots did it.
Makes sense actually.
Nials with gravimetric tech. wont have much of an explosion power, but Zephyrs and the rest are equiped with reactors that go boom.
I've noticed that some explode sooner and some later, Afterburning away doesn't allways work for those that explose "early"
