ATTN Icefire - custom music?
Hi there - working on some missions and I would like to be able to add music. I was looking through the music table and it is pretty complicated. How can I add another soundtrack, and what do all the numbers mean? Looks like time and then a larger number is probably the size in bits of the file but who knows. I would appreciate a quick tutorial if possible.
I don't really know. Not many people have been able to make heads or tails of those numbers. Just follow the same format I used and pop your music files in.
Make sure the music is the SAME FORMAT as FS2 or you will have crashes. We did for months.

What format is that? Some variety of wav?Presumably I would have to include a new music.tbl to distribute with the mission. This may be too complicated to be worth it...
I made my own ITF soundtrack to TBP it was quite simple I used copy paste method, i copied Shadow dancing soundtrack and made few modifications to it and voila there's my soundtrack, although I didn't touch those numbers

Getting the correct numbers is really complicated, compare the lenghes of your waves to the original FS2 waves and use the same numbers...maybe it will work, maybe not...it's trial and error...

I remember reading somewhere (I think it was the FRED forum), that the numbers are a part of a old code, and therefore can be ignored. Anyone else heared about this? Or am I imagining things...
I just increase those numbers. For example, if there is number 32, I'll change it to 62 or somethig. Then my music will be playing all way to end......
one of the files has to be in a lower quality format.. not sure which one. Blacksheep discovered it.

No no, that file you mean, was in 44 Khz...if you use 22 Khz, 16 bits and ADPCM compression it will work just fine...

That was a mistake I made....accidentally saving at 44 instead of 22. Caused crashes
