Hello

Great conversion you guys!

But...

We all know that lag plays a big role in how we play FreeSpace2.

If you can only use guns...and at the monent those are the only weapons avaible are guns then it will be nearly impossible to really do our part in a dogfight. And since even if you could carry missiles you couldn't carry very many. No matter how good you are your effectiveness if your not the host is very low. Would there be a way to fix that? I don't mean slap on 90 missles and stuff like that...Just give the person a fighting chance to get to do something more then run for their life.

In the demo the EA really seems to get the crap kicked out of them...and that is to be expected....but they didn't seem to really fight back. The cap ships just sat there and waited to be killed. Is this because the Membarie have longer range beam weapons or something?

Once again great job.
I want more!!!

Don't worry, remaining lods will be done soon and released with a patch. And then always you can drop details a bit, they don't have to be on max.

Um....i'm using a p200. It has a hard enough time as it is running with all of the details set to their lowest setting....lockups and near crashes are frequent... I'd be insane to put them on max!

i couldnt imagine playing without everything on max

Come on! You hardly notice anything different if you drop your details from max to second to max.

Go from using a PIII 850 to a P200....you'll notice a BIG difference.

I just don't get it. I hang out with alot of computer geeks and NO ONE is running less than a 1gig processor with a half gig of RAM and a Geforce 2. I forget that the rest of the world doesn't buy a new computer every six months... We all had Windows XP last summer! (back when it was Windows Whistler)

haha same here

the norm with my buddies is at least 1.4GHz and 512Mb ram with a GF2

We never designed everything with multiplayer in mind. We designed it mostly for single player and with regard to the show.

So go ahead and try....some people have been having good experiences, but its not as "supported" as single player is.
